We design our own boards. We write our own firmware.
Unnat builds positioning and sensing systems for the places satellite positioning gives up — inside factories and hospitals, under racking, between container stacks, along a pitch.
Three radios, not one. A real site almost never needs only one.
Twenty years of embedded design sits behind that: board-level hardware, bare-metal and embedded Linux firmware, RF integration. Antenna to API, the whole chain is ours.
Three questions, three radios.
Each of these answers a different question well and the other two badly. Choosing between them is most of the engineering — and the honest answer is often two of the three.
Ultra-Wideband
A coordinate, to a few tens of centimetres. Time of flight across 500 MHz of bandwidth, not signal strength — which is why clutter doesn’t break it.
Read more → IdentityRFID
An identity, at a known point. Battery-free tags read in bulk: never a coordinate, but certainty about what passed and when.
Read more → PresencemmWave Radar
No tag, no wearable, no camera. Count, motion, even breathing — returned as reflections, never as an image.

The three are not points on one scale. They differ in how finely they resolve space, and in how much has to be installed to get it. The useful question is not which is best, but which rung a decision actually needs.
Where a position changes a decision.
Eight sectors where knowing position, identity or presence changes how the work runs. Ultra-wideband leads in six of them; RFID leads retail and mmWave leads smart buildings; and two — warehousing and healthcare — genuinely need both.
Sport & Athlete Performance
Player and ball tracking indoors and out. Load, sprints, positional shape.
Read more →Manufacturing
WIP and tooling location, cycle time per station, safety zones that follow people.
Read more →Warehousing & Logistics
Forklifts, pallets, dock-door verification and aisle congestion.
Read more →Yards, Ports & Fleet
Container and trailer location where satellite positioning is blocked or too coarse.
Read more →Healthcare
Equipment location, patient flow, and fall detection with no camera and nothing worn.
Read more →Construction & Mining
Crew mustering, plant tracking, and proximity warning around heavy machinery.
Read more →Retail & Inventory
Item-level stock accuracy, shelf availability, anonymous footfall.
Read more →Smart Buildings
Desk and room utilisation, ventilation that follows people. No tags, no cameras.
Read more →Start with a site, not a specification.
Send us the space, what moves in it, and the accuracy the decision actually needs. We will tell you which of the three technologies fits, which does not, and what a first deployment would involve.
